San Francisco Giants 6 – San Diego Padres 2
Neither team wanted to win the game. Of course we brought the first game out of the break into extra innings. 12 innings of baseball and we bring the tying run to the plate (as usual) and could not pull it off (as usual). We even put 2 runs on the scoreboard , when we usually have a 1 or a fat ZERO.
Luke Gregerson had a complete meltdown in the twelfth inning. He walked 3 batters, had an error and gave up 5 runs with only 1 San Fran hit!
Heath Bell came into the game in the ninth inning to try and close out the game at 1-0 but he gave up a bomb to the first batter he saw, Aubrey Huff.
The crowd went nuts in the 9th and it went crazy again in the 12th. Too bad it was a home game for the Padres and the ballpark was full of Giants fans.
Just a long day and a long season!
