Let Luebke start or bring back Bass!

Anthony Bass pitched well in his major league debut and was rewarded by being sent back down to Double-A in order to call up Wade LeBlanc. LeBlanc comes in for his second start of the season and could not last 5 innings. Most likely LeBlanc will stick around while Aaron Harang sits on the disabled list, but the pitcher that was more effective gets the demotion.

If anything, I hope the Padres oust LeBlanc to the bullpen and give the opportunity to Cory Luebke. Luebke has been impressive out of the bullpen and has just been waiting for his chance to be the starter. It is very similar to the situation of opening day starter Tim Stauffer last season.

LeBlanc can be used in the long relief and spot starter role that Luebke is currently at. Let’s see more of the Lueb, he is going to be a future starter on this team and the opportunity is there now.
