The Padres acted quickly and locked up their first round draft pick Cory Spangenberg to a $.86 million contract and he will start his season out at Eugene. He can move quickly through the minor league system and we may see him in Fort Wayne soon.
Hopefully he does well in the minors and moves through the system. We would love to see one of our number 1 picks work out and contribute to the big league squad. Jed Hoyer signed the first pick and now it’s time to work on the rest of the picks. There are a couple of guys that we drafted that we may have a tough time signing. Hope Jed can get them all in and stock up on talent for our minor league squads.
Cory Spangenberg got the rookie treatment today. Interviews. BP at 5:00, and Orlando Hudson heckling him during it all. #Padresless than a minute ago via TweetDeck Favorite Retweet ReplyMark Thompson
