Friar Farm Report – Opening Day

Today was opening day for the minor leagues and here are some of the notable performances for our boys down on the farm.

Triple-A Tuscon Padres

Our possible fifth starter at the major league level, Wade LeBlanc, was roughed up in his start giving up 8 runs in 4 1/3 innings. He walked 2 and gave up 3 bombs in the game.

1B Anthony Rizzo batted clean-up and had 2 hits and drove in 4 runs in the game. Logan Forsythe drew four walks in the game and went deep twice to drive in 4. Aaron Cunningham had 2 hits which included a homerun. Everth Cabrera batted lead-off and had 4 hits and scored 3 runs.

Double-A San Antonio Missions

Brad Brach closed out the game to get his first save and struck out the side.

Lake Elsinore Storm

Eric Patterson is down at Lake Elsinore on a rehab assignment and is batting lead-off. He started the game 0-for-2 with a strikeout, but the game is still in progress.

Fort Wayne Tin Caps

Keyvious Sampson pitched 6 perfect innings and had 10 strikeouts to get the win.
