Venable and Cantu Lead the Charge Against the Rox

Will Venable hit his first home run of the Spring off of pitcher Matt Reynolds to drive in 3 runs. Jorge Cantu drove in 2 runs also. The Padres scored 7 runs on 12 hits to get their first win of the spring.

Aaron Harang got his first start of the spring and pitched 2 shutout innings. He retired all 6 batters that he faced. Casey Kelly saw his first action as a Padre and retired all 3 batters that he faced in relief for Harang. Chad Qualls had a tough outing, giving up 2 runs on a home run to Troy Tulowitzki.

The Padres need to clean up the fielding a little bit. Orlando Hudson and Jorge Cantu both committed errors on the right side of the infield.
