Padres legends Trevor Hoffman and Ozzie Smith will be among the participants of the MLB All Star Celebrity Softball Game held All Star Sunday July 10th at Petco Park in San Diego.

The lineup was announced Monday, as Hoffman will be joined by Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, swimsuit model Nina Agdal, and more for the fun event following the MLB Futures Game played earlier in the day at 1pm.

As the Padres Wil Myers continues to make his case heard to be included in the Game on Tuesday night, Fernando Rodney is almost surely to be picked by NL Manager Terry Collins as well for the event as he has yet to allow an earned run so far this season.

Rollie Fingers will be on hand as well, and Tim Raines who hopes to join Fingers and Smith soon in Cooperstown will be taking part in the event for the first game.

These games are usually more fun for the participants than fans who won’t exactly get to see much quality baseball/softball. If they are looking for stiff competition they would be better served going out to the Monday beer league, but it is fun to see celebrities and athletes together and every once in awhile there is a surprise.

Last year Snoop Dogg “stole” second base after a replay ruled he hadn’t gone out of the basepaths (he had) though after his first pitch this year at Petco I would be surprised if he got another chance.

Last year Bengals QB rifled a home run to left – no word yet on if Chargers QB Phillip Rivers will play a part in the festivities or be in attendance at all. Essentially it’s a fun way to pass some time Sunday afternoon in San Diego before the Home Run Derby Monday and All Star Game itself Tuesday night. Three weeks to go!
