In the interview, Padres Chat asks why the Padres decided to release hitting coach Phil Plantier? The answer is that the Padres wanted a different personality in that position, especially because the direction of the 2015 Padres is still being discussed amongst the front office. Later in the interview, a question was posed to Dennis Lin: “Three players you want to see the Padres go after?” his answer: ” Michael Cuddyer, Mookie Betts and Ben Zobrist, why not?”
When the topic of the minor leagues came up, their was one player that was asked about, and that was Hunter Renfroe. The question asked was “How does the team see Renfroe?” The answer is that Jeff Sanders believes that he will start at Double-A San Antonio, with a chance at a September call-up.
Along with all of those, these topics were also brought up, the new scoreboard , Yasmany Tomas possibly being signed, as well as the possible signing of the Japanese pitcher the Padres have been looking at, Chihiro Kaneko. Plus who the club might resign, who they will release or trade, and the players that could possibly see a position change next year.
Who will the Padres sign in free agency? Who will stay? Who will leave town via trade or free agency? We’ll all find out together.
Keep the Faith.
