The San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants play the final game of the 2014 regular season today at 1:05 PM PDT from AT&T Park. The Padres will send Robbie Erlin to the mound (4-4) with a 4.53 ERA, he will face off against Chris Heston who will be making his first start of the year as a Giant.

The Padres offense has struggled this year, but one of the bright spots the past few games has been the play of Yasmani Grandal, he is your Padres player to watch out for in the final game of the season today.

The Giants hitters have caused problems for the Padres pitchers all year long, but one player who has been a thorn in their side is Brandon Crawford who again lifted the Giants to a win yesterday over the Padres.

Going into the offseason the Padres will look to add offense, because that has been the main problem of the team, the pitching staff has been outstanding this year for the Padres. The Giants on the other hand are headed to the playoffs for another year and they are looking to win it all once again. There is reason to be hopeful friar faithful with a new G.M. in place and a new vision for the future the Padres look to be contending next year.
