The Padres fell to the Giants 3-1 in Game three of a four game set to end the regular season for both teams. The Padres sent Eric Stults to the hill today and he pitched pretty well going seven innings only giving up one run on six hits and striking out five Batters. The Giants’ Jake Peavy pitched well also, he went five innings giving up one run on four hits, while walking three and striking out three.

The Giants struck first in yesterday’s game in the very first inning, when Matt Duffy hit a single, he was then brought home when Brandon Belt doubled. This put the Giants up 1-0.

The Padres would strike back in the 5th inning when Will Venable hit a single, and was brought home on a Yasmani Grandal sacrifice fly later in the inning.

No one scored until the eighth when the Giants got to the Padre Bullpen once again today, Dale Thayer gave up 2 runs to the Giants when he gave up a two run single to  Belt with runners on second and third gave the Giants a 3-1 lead, a lead which they wouldn’t relinquish, that would be the final score of the game.

The Padres and Giants Play the final game of the season and the series today at 1:05 PM PDT from AT&T Park. The Friars will send Robbie Erlin to the mound (4-4) 4.53 ERA to face off against Chris Heston who will be making his first start of the year.
