First responders of the recent Southern California wildfires are scheduled to be honored by the San Diego Padres tonight prior to the start of the team’s game against the Chicago Cubs. Over 20 different agencies from across the SoCal region will participate in tonight’s ceremony.

Included activities for tonight’s ceremony will include a video tribute, a fly-over by the San Diego Fire-Rescue and San Diego Sheriff/CAL FIRE, video messages thanking the responders from Padres’ players and coaches, along with on-field recognition for the first responder’s heroics.

It is expected that over 1,000 guests that are first responders and their families will be on-hand at tonight’s game, as charitable partners of the Padres, Mission Federal Credit Union and Golden State Graphics donated funds to honor as many heroes as possible. They worked in conjunction with the Padres’ Foundation. While recovery and reconstruction efforts continue, the American Red Cross is leading the way by providing many facets of support for those who were directly affected by the wildfires.

From the entire staff at Friars On Base, we wish to say thank you to all of the first responders and their families for their service and sacrifice. Keep the Faith. #SDFirstResponders
