The Padres face the Rockies in the rubber match of the series. The Padres turn to Donn Roach (1-0, 2.57 ERA) to pitch them to victory. Roach takes Andrew Cashner’s turn in the rotation after Cashner was placed on the 15-day DL with an elbow injury.

Roach is not only making his first start of the season, but of his career. He has made 54 starts in the minors (28-20, 3.41 ERA) since being drafted in 2008 out of high school be the Los Angeles Angles of Anaheim. Roach found his way on the Padres via the Ernersto Frieri trade that included Alexi Amarista.

The Rockies will turn to Juan Nicasio (4-2, 3.77 ERA) as they look to earn the series win. Nicasio has been exceptional against righties this season, holding them to .213 average. Look for Bud Black to use a left-handed heavy lineup as they are batting .299 against Nicasio on the season.

First pitch is at 1:10 pm PT.

The Padres are 3-2 on their current road trip.

The Padres have Monday off before beginning a six-game home stand against Minnesota Twins and the Chicago Cubs.

Keep the Faith.
