Yesterday’s trades are the big news this morning so, here are a few different looks at what the trades mean:

New Padre outfielder Alex Dickerson not only had a pretty good Arizona Fall League season, he also won the NL portion of the inaugural Bowman Hitting Challenge.

Does Bud Black overuse the bullpen? The guys over at Rumbunter seem to think so. They are also pretty pleased with receiving Miles Mikolas and losing Alex Dickerson.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette seems to be OK with losing the “first baseman of the future“. They mention that he had a bad Arizona Fall League because he only batted .289. Hey, whatever makes you feel better about the Padres getting a steal.

In non-trade related news…

Rantsports list the 5 reasons to be thankful that you are a Padres fan. Not surprisingly, more than half of the reasons are pitching.

The guys over at Call to the Pen mention that the Padres 2013 season was derailed by injuries. Yep. It was.

The Bleacher Report has their Top 10 Strange But True Plays up. The Padres come in at number 6 with their stolen win over the Colorado Rockies back in the Summer. Good thing there’s no instant replay for these kinds of things. Yet.
