Padres Links for November 12

Austin Hedges and Cory Spangenberg continue to impress in the Arizona Fall League. Yesterday the Peoria Javelinas lost 4-0 but Hedges and Spangenberg had the only extra base hits against some impressive Mesa Solar Sox pitching.

Speaking of Cory Spangenberg, MLB.com has an article up about his improved defense this year with the Missions, which he continues to work on in Arizona.

Jedd Gyorko finished 6th in the NL ROY voting this year. Jose Fernandez won the award with Yasiel Puig coming in second. The hot topic on Twitter following the announcement was John Maffei from the U-T leaving Puig off his ballot completely. Best tweet about the “scandal”:

Then there’s this totally random Skype interview with Cody Decker. With his personality, I’m pretty sure that the Chihuahuas Front Office will encourage him to make appearances as much as possible to promote the team in El Paso. All of this assumes, of course, that he will be on the AAA roster again next year. Which I would think is very likely.
