Here is the “Daily Roundup,” Friars fans:

• Brock & Collier also discussed how Colt Hynes is taking over as the Padres’ featured left-handed reliever.  Hynes, who made his rookie debut just before the All-Star Break this year, has a golden opportunity to fill an important bullpen role for San Diego.

• With Everth Cabrera’s suspension looming, the Padres will likely need some middle infield help.  Yesterday they signed Ronny Cedeno to a minor league contract according to Brock’s Twitter page.

• Speaking of the Biogenesis suspensions, Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors reported, via a Tweet from Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, that Monday will be the day that the suspensions are announced.
