Here is the “Daily Roundup,” Friars fans:



  • It looks like the penalties for the “Biogenesis Scandal” will be handed out soon, and the Padres will likely be affected in some way.  According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.com, San Diego’s injured catcher, Yasmani Grandal, will likely escape a suspension due to the fact that he served 50 games before the season started.  On the other hand, Everth Cabrera could be suspended for 50 games for his involvement.  This would be a huge blow to the Friars, especially since Cabrera was the team’s lone All-Star representative, is the starting shortstop, and is the team’s leadoff hitter.
