Here is the “Daily Roundup,” Friars fans:
- Joe Morgan of MLB.com reported that injured-shortstop Everth Cabrera could return for San Diego’s upcoming series against Boston this week. The addition of Cabrera to their lineup would be a huge boost, and the Padres could stand to use his speed at the top of their batting order.
- Chris Jenkins of the San Diego Union-Tribune wrote an article on the subject of San Diego’s athletic outfielders. Jenkins discussed how guys like Will Venable have made some spectacular catches this season and have helped their team with their terrific defensive play.
- According to the Padres’ team website, San Diego will send rookie Robbie Erlin to the hill to start game one of their three-game series against the Red Sox on Tuesday.
- Bill Center of the San Diego Union-Tribune shared his thoughts on San Diego’s game versus Miami this evening. The game starts at 4:10 P.M. PDT.
