Padres’ Opening Day Roster

The Padres break camp today and head to New York to face the Mets on Opening Day. The Padres solidified their 25-man roster Friday after sending If/Of Kyle Blanks and LHP Tommy Layne to Triple-A Tucson. The Friars Opening Day roster includes 12 pitchers, 5 infielders and six outfielders.

    Well, I wasn’t surprised at all. I WILL be surprised if Guzman isn’t replaced by Blanks by the All-Star game. I’m surprised Guzman, of the many positions he can’t really play, is still with the Padres. Don’t the Rays need a DH?
