DirecTV To Carry Fox Sports San Diego

There will be Padres baseball for DirectTV subscribers in San Diego. Fox Sports San Diego announced the launch of  its full-time regional sports network on DirecTV on Monday, April 1 in time for Opening Day in New York.

DirecTV subscribers were able to watch Padres baseball all of last year. And continue to do so this year.

According to a Fox Sports San Diego press release, DIRECTV will make eight of the Padres’ ten spring training contests on FOX Sports San Diego available to their customers, as well as the first airing of FSSD’s Padres Season Preview Show, debuting March 22 at 6:00 PM.

Following is a list of Padres related programming available on DIRECTV prior to April 1.

·         Sunday, March 3 at 12:00 PM: Padres vs. Chicago White Sox

·         Monday, March 4 at 12:00 PM: Padres at Texas Rangers

·         Tuesday, March 5 at 12:00 PM: Padres vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

·         Monday, March 11 at 1:00 PM: Padres vs. Oakland A’s

·         Tuesday, March 12 at 7:00 PM: Padres vs. San Francisco Giants

·         Wednesday, March 13 at 1:00 PM: Padres vs. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

·         Friday, March 22 at 6:00 PM: Padres Season Preview Show

·         Friday, March 22 at 7:00 PM: Padres vs. Seattle Mariners

·         Sunday, March 24 at 1:00 PM: Padres vs. Milwaukee Brewers

Correction: This article previously stated that Padres games were not broadcasted on DirecTV last year. This is incorrect. Padres games were shown on DirecTV, but Fox Sports San Diego was not a full-time sports network with DireccTV. While Padres games were broadcasted, other sporting events and programs shown on Fox Sports San Diego were not available. We regret this error.

Ummm….directv carried Padres games last year too. Where are you getting your information??

DirecTV has carried the channel part-time. Beginning April 1st, the channel will be full time. This mostly means that it will be easier to set DVRs. Also, from time to time they would forget to broadcast Padres POV or Padres Weekly. They only broadcasted Cup of Coffee with Enberg like once or twice. Also, will be able to view replay broadcasts if you forgot to DVR live broadcast (or don’t have a DVR).

Ok, what if there is a conflict with a Clippers or Ducks game and a padres game? Do these games get bumped and are not shown?
