Newly acquired minor league pitcher Wilfredo Boscan posted a 1.80 ERA over 12 starts in 55 innings pitched in the Venezuelan Winter League to officially win the ERA title.
This is great news for the Padres. We didn’t know what exact to expect from Boscan, but it appears the kid could pitch. Josh Byrnes might have just come away with a steal, I know it is way to early to tell.
Nonetheless, I am excited to see what kind of impact, if any, Boscan will have in the 2013 season.
I think his best chance of making the team is out of the bullpen. The Padres have a whole lot of starting pitching depth already and the bullpen is where the Padres could use the most help.
