The Padres brought back one of their prospects on Wednesday when they re-signed left-handed pitcher Juan Pablo Oramas to a Minor League deal. Oramas was removed from the 40-man roster when the Padres non- tendered him on Nov. 30

The Padres brought back Oramas with the hope that he can be ready to pitch in the middle of next season after he completes rehab for Tommy John surgery.

Oramas, 22, had a successful 2011 before going under the knife. The Mexican left-hander was 10-6 with a 3.49 ERA between Class-A Lake Elsinore and Double-A San Antonio.

He only started in eight games last season, struggling mightily as he posted a 6.37 ERA.
