The Padres added two players to their Triple-A squad by selecting third baseman Diego Goris and right-handed pitcher Frederico Castaneda in the Triple-A phase of the Rule 5 Draft.

Both players were taken out of the Kansas City Royals organization.

There isn’t much of a scouting report for either guy, but the 21-year-old Goris has a .309/.340/4.57 slash line over parts of five Minor League seasons.

Castaneda is somewhat of an elder statesman in the Minor Leagues as he is a 28-year-old Minor Leaguer, but that’s not stopping him from living his dream. The Mexican native is 20-22 with a 4.30 ERA over parts of eight Minor League seasons.
