Padres Announce Minor League Coaching Staffs

The Padres announced most of the coaching staffs for their minor league affiliates and there are a few intriguing and familiar names that will coach Padres prospects in 2013.

Brian Lawrence, who pitched for the Padres for five seasons, will now be the pitching coach for Single-A lake Elsinore. Lawrence pitched for the Padres from 2001-2005, winning 15 games in 2004. Lawrence coached last year in an independent league.

John Gibbons, who managed Double-A San Antonio last season, was hired to manage the Toronto Blue Jays. The team has not announced a replacement. Former MLB outfielder Jacque Jones will be the hitting coach for San Antonio. Jones hit .277 in 10 Major League Seasons.
