The Padres and Rangers will play two exhibition games in San Antonio in 2013, just before Opening Day. However, the games will take place in the Alamodome, home to the San Antonio Spurs.

The report comes via the Round Rock Express, the AAA affiliate for the Texas Rangers. The games will take place on March 29th and 30th.

Padres beat writer Corey Brock reports that the Alamodome can hold 52,000 for baseball and will feature a right field porch of just 280 feet, albeit with a 16-foot wall.

The game should also be a homecoming for many Padres, as the Padres AA team resides in San Antonio. It will be interesting to see baseball played in the home of Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard.
