Aaron Maybin, a 2009 first round bust of the Buffalo Bills, had revived his career last year with the Jets, where the linebacker racked up a team-high six sacks.
For his revival, the Jets rewarded their defensive standout by signing him to a one-year $1.05 million contract, which included a $325,000 signing bonus and a $75,000 roster bonus, ESPN NY reports.
This year though, the numbers haven’t quite been there for him. He only had four combined tackles and zero sacks, the lack of production lead the Jets to release him.
It seems to me that the Jets may have more than a Mark Sanchez-Tim Tebow problem.
There is no word yet if Aaron has been in contact with other teams. Cameron Maybin could not be reached for comment.
