Closer Huston Street suffered a minor setback in his rehab when he experienced pain in his strained left calf while jogging. Street was scheduled to pitch Friday for Single-A Lake Elsinore, but was scratched for precautionary reasons. The closer is to meet with the team in Los Angeles on Monday, according to Corey Brock on Padres.com

Street has been lights-out all season converting all 21 of his save opportunities.

The 2005 Rookie of the Year has appeared in 37 games for the Friars compiling a 2-0 record with a 0.75 ERA and 21 saves.

This is the right-hander’s second stint on the 15-day disabled list after being placed on it earlier this year for a strained right lat muscle.

In July, the Padres and Street agreed to a $14 million, two-year contact extension through 2014.

With Street  unavailable to close, manager Bud Black has elected to go for the closer-by-committee route with Luke Gregerson getting the majority of the load.
