Padres Agree To Terms With Seventh Overall Pick

NBCSports.com is reporting that the San Diego Padres and LHP Max Fried, the seventh overall pick in the 2012 First-Year Player Draft, have agreed to terms on a $ 3million contract.

The Padres selected the 18-year-old out of Harvard-Westlake High School in Studio City,California where he went 8-2 with a 2.02 ERA and 105 strikeouts against 29 walks and 43 hits allowed in 66 innings pitched.

Fried was ranked seventh on Baseball America’s list of top players and ESPN.com rated him fifth overall.
