San Antonio Missions relief pitcher Ryan Kelly has pitched well enough in the first two games of the young season that he has been rewarded with a promotion to Triple-A Tucson, where he is scheduled to join the team today, according to a team release.

In two appearances with the Missions, Kelly was 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and did not surrender a hit or walk in four innings of work while striking out three.

Acquired in a trade with the Texas Rangers for catcher Luis Martinez last December, the right-hander has gone 10-13 with 20 saves, a 4.43 ERA and 238 strikeouts against 66 walks in 123 games, 16 starts over parts of six minor league seasons.

The 24-year old native of Hilton Head, SC was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 26th round of the 2006 First-Year Player draft.

The Missions roster is now at 24, with a corresponding move to follow.
