Pitching Probables: Royals vs Padres Series

facebooktwitterreddit

Can we carry the momentum from our last 2 series victories and bring them into this series against the Royals? We need to make those clutch hits and bring in some runs for our pitchers. We will take a look at two lefty pitchers in this series.

Game 1:
Jeff Francis vs Mat Latos
We have seen Francis pitch before when he was a member of the Colorado Rockies and he is coming back into town to pitch against Mat Latos. Mat needs come out and pitch well and hopefully get the win to start out the series. Francis has a career record of 5-12 against us and an ERA of 5.66. Orlando Hudson and Ryan Ludwick have seen him the most and have a .333 batting average against him.

Game 2:
Felipe Paulino vs Clayton Richard
Clayton pitched well in his last start against the Red Sox. He had to battle all the rain delays but he was still able to pull off the victory. Paulino will be looking to get his first victory of the season against us, so it will be up to Clayton and our offense to stop him. Our hitters have not seen much of Paulino in the past and a lot of the guys will be getting their first look at him.

Game 3:
Bruce Chen vs Tim Stauffer
Stauffer has been pitching lights out in his last few starts! He will be looking to shut down the Royals and hopefully looking for a sweep in the series! Chen has a career 2-1 record against our boys with a 1.99 ERA. This looks like it will be a solid pitching battle.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
