Padres Morning Dump

Jason Bartlett hit a bases-loaded infield single to bring in the tying run with two outs in the eighth inning and Orlando Hudson followed with a two-run single as the San Diego Padres rallied to beat the Braves 4-1.

Cory Spangenberg has already made clear his ability to help the Eugene Emeralds by getting on base at a higher rate than any other hitter in the Northwest League.

The Kansas City Royals are only percentage points ahead of last place in their division, while the San Diego Padres are showing signs they might climb out of the cellar soon.

San Diego Padres starting pitcher Aaron Harang(notes) is going to have to wait just a little bit longer before he can try to win his eighth game of the season. He’s been on the DL since June 13 with a stress fracture in his right foot and the San Diego Union-Tribune reports that he “likely won’t pitch until after the July 11-13 All-Star break.”
