Pitching Probables: Padres vs Braves Series

facebooktwitterreddit

Here are the probable pitching match ups for the series against the Braves. This series should feature some pretty good pitching duels with the help of PETCO behind them.

Game 1:
Derek Lowe vs Tim Stauffer
This will be our best chance to score some runs in the series, but it will be for the pitcher that we have given the least run support. Stauffer has been pitching gems lately, but he has not been given anything from the offense and is struggling to find wins. If he keeps up the good pitching, he is sure to run into a win sometime soon. Derek Lowe has been struggling of late with his ERA near 5 in his last 12 starts. We will need to jump all over him and get those runs to extend our winning streak to three games.

Game 2:
Jair Jurrjens vs Dustin Moseley
Jurrjens is one tough customer and in his last start against us he pitched a complete game. His ERA is 2.11 and he will be looking for his 10th win. Moseley has been pitching well and only gave up one run against the Twins in his last start but still took the loss. Moseley will have to be lights out and may have to pitch a shutout to have a chance in this one.

Game 3:
Tim Hudson vs Cory Luebke
Luebke will be getting his first shot this season to start and hopefully he does well. He has been in the long relief role all season and has been pitching strong. Hudson pitched great on Monday and will be looking to follow it up with a good performance.
