Another day of roster moves galore for our Padres. The Padres called up Josh Spence from Double-A to take a relief role on the big league squad and Wade LeBlanc was sent back down to Triple-A. Cory Luebke may be getting his opportunity to be a starter now that LeBlanc has been sent down.
Brad Hawpe was placed on the disabled list for a strained finger and Kyle Phillips was brought back up to the major league roster. Phillips will be able to give Nick Hundley a breather here and there. Phillips has been better than both Hundley and Rob Johnson offensively lately.
The Padres designated OF Luis Durango for assignment in order to make room for Spence on the 40 man roster. If Durango clears, I assume he will be back on the Triple-A roster.
