Padres strike out 14 times in loss

We struck out 14 times tonight. More than half of the outs, we didn’t even out the ball in play! We also struggled with runners in scoring position again going 3-for-15 and leaving 11 men on base. That kind of offense is not going to get it done out in Coors Field or anywhere. Nick Hundley, Ryan Ludwick and Anthony Rizzo each struck out three times on the night.

Wade LeBlanc could not last a whole five innings in his start. The Rockies started hitting him around in the fourth inning and scored 3 runs to chase him out of the inning. Pat Neshek came in for relief and then gave up another 3 runs a couple of innings later.

Tomorrow we will have to fight for that series win!
