The Padres will introduce another youngster tonight with the debut of pitcher Anthony Bass. Bass will fill in for pitcher Dustin Moseley who went down with a shoulder injury. Bass has a 3.41 ERA in 68.2 innings with 63 strikeouts between Double-A and Triple-A. Unfortunately he has to pitch in hitter friendly Coors Field to make his debut.
Aaron Harang was placed on the disabled list with s right foot contusion. In order to make room for Bass on the 40-man roster, the Padres designated P Aaron Poreda for assignment. He was brought to the Padres as part of the Jake Peavy trade. The only piece left from the Peavy trade is P Clayton Richard.
Let’s see if Bass can continue his success from the minor league level to the big stage. His first opportunity comes tonight and we need wins!
