Padres start off home stand on the wrong foot

San Diego Padres 4 – Houston Astros 7

Teams will score a bunch of runs if they were given 6 outs in an inning. The Houston Astros got that opportunity in the third inning tonight when the Padres committed 3 errors in the inning. The Astros put up 5 runs in the inning and quickly had a 6-to-NOTHING lead.

The Padres tried to mount a comeback, but the deficit was too large to overcome.

Tim Stauffer had a terrible day taking the loss, pitching 5 innings and giving up 7 runs. The team will have to start that winning streak tomorrow!
