San Diego Padres 1 – Arizona Diamondbacks 6

The Padres could not come up with the right formula tonight. The relief pitching could not keep the game close and the offense was not able to continue their hot streak of scoring runs.

The Padres offense was held to one run in the game after going on a scoring spree the last few games. The team was 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position. Chris Denorfia flirted with a cycle, hitting a single, double and triple, but he didn’t get an opportunity for the home run in the ninth inning.

Tim Stauffer will take the loss after giving up 4 runs in 5 1/3 innings of work. Cory Luebke gave up a couple of runs in relief and allowed a couple of inherited runners to score also.
