Need to find more at bats for Norf

Players look better dirty

Sure, he is a liability out in the field, but Chris Denorfia just keeps on hitting. On a team that is collectively trying to stay above the Mendoza line, Chris Denorfia is batting .347. In games that he has started, the Padres have a record of 6-4.

We need to find a way to get him more plate appearances if he keeps on hitting and the Padres keep winning. The silent bats is our biggest weakness , so why not start the best hitters on the team so that we don’t keep getting shut out in games. We have been shut out in 8 games already this season. JUST RIDICULOUS!

Will Venable is batting .224 right now and Ryan Ludwick dipped below the .200 mark again this season. Venable looks like he is starting to heat up, so Norf should be stealing some of Luddy’s at bats and then he can be put on the bench for defensive reasons late in the game. Norf is one of our top offensive threats and is mainly used as a pinch hitter. We need his offense in the game from the start!

I had this very thought last night as I read the box score. Defense is terrible this year, but lack of hitting is the (much) bigger liability on this team, and Denorfia is one of the only bright spots. The night before, when Norf led off, the team won. The next day he has one PH at-bat in a loss. I’ll trade the defensive liability for any spark in the pathetic lineup. A couple of days ago, the best batting average in the lineup was the pitcher’s .273, while half the team was hovering near .200 or BELOW. And this May!!

yea… with the team that we have. we need to make that trade off. he leads the team in hitting and only gets pinch hits and spot starts. he needs to be in the lineup
