Brewers are slightly less worse than our Padres

Milwaukee Brewers 8 – San Diego Padres 6

Our Padres went out to Milwaukee to face a team that had the same record as them and was on a 7 game slide when we came in. Both the Padres and the Brew crew had a 14-20 record when we arrived in town.

Today, we will be trying to avoid a sweep with the loss yesterday. I would love to give you more thoughts on the loss, but after we went down 8 to ZIP, i figured there was no chance for our offense to make that comeback. I am pretty sure that most everyone thought the same.

The offense stepped up trying to rally the team back from the 8 run deficit. We put 6 runs on the board and we even had the winning run at the plate with the final at bat. Of course, that final at bat had Ryan Ludwick standing at the plate. Luddy is now 0-for his last 21 at bats riding a 5 game hitless streak. Pinch hitting Dustin Moseley (second on the team in batting average) or Mat Latos may have been a better idea in that situation.

The team fought back and showed some real grit, but fell short at the end. Today we just need to try and avoid that sweep!
