Mat Latos becomes first Padres pitcher ever to homer at Petco

The Padres pitchers must be tired of the poor offensive production of the team and today, one of the pitchers took care of business for himself. Mat Latos hit the first home run by a Padres pitcher in PETCO Park’s history. He took a ball deep to left off of Pittsburgh pitcher Jeff Karstens to start the scoring for the Padres.

Latos now has more home runs than Brad Hawpe, Will Venable, Orlando Hudson, and Jason Bartlett combined. Sounds like we need to find a way to get him in the everyday lineup.
