Our Padres 5 – the Duds 2

It is amazing what a little offense can do. Baby Gwynn tried to do it to us again by driving in a tying run late in the game. Our offense did not fail to fire back and score some runs for the pitchers. We were aggressive on the base paths and forced runners to cross home plate. There were a couple of times that we forced the Duds to make a play at the plate, and both times we forced the catcher to drop the ball. The offense came through with runners in scoring position and we go into the rubber match with a possibility to win the series.

Tim Stauffer pitched a string outing but lost his opportunity at the win when he left in the middle of the seventh with a runner on and hoped that the bullpen would take care of the rest. The bullpen allowed the run to score, but the offense picked them up this time.

Let’s keep this rolling and get the win tomorrow!
