San Diego Padres 5- Chicago Cubs 4

W: Aaron Harang (4-0)
L: James Russell (1-2)
SV: Heath Bell (5)

The boys are coming back home with that winning feeling. We were able to wake up the bats enough to put up 5 runs in the game. Ryan Ludwick‘s bat looks like it might be starting to warm up, he started off the offensive attack in the 2nd inning with a 2-run bomb. He went 3-for-4 in the game and his batting average finally is sitting at the Mendoza line. Cameron Maybin and Chris Denorfia joined in on the home run party also. Aaron Harang tried to get in on the homer parade as well, but his ball hit off the wall and went for a double.

Altogether, the Padres went 2-for-7 with runners in scoring position and they only left 5 men on base, compared to the 16 they left on base in game 1.

Aaron Harang has been the ace of the staff in the early season. He has won his first 4 starts and each start has stopped a losing skid. He pitched 6 innings and struck out 5 Cubbies. He then handed the ball off to the bullpen, where Chad Qualls let Chicago right back into the game by allowing a 2-run jack to Alfonso Soriano. Heath Bell came in for the 9th inning and closed it out for our 8th win of the season.
