Another day, must mean another lineup change

It is getaway day and the Padres look to take off with a split in the series between the Houston Astros. Buddy Black made another lineup change trying to generate some offense from the team. Chris Denorfia will bat lead-off and try to set the table for the rest of the team. Ryan Ludwick is back in the lineup and will bat in the 6 hole. Jorge Cantu is back in the lineup again playing first and Orlando Hudson will take his first day off the season, allowing Eric Patterson to play 2B and bat in the second spot.

Clayton Richard will hope to get some offensive help (I might have to say this every game) when he takes the mound today. The Padres offense was hoping to see an increase in production by heading into Houston’s hitter friendly ballpark. Unfortunately, we were only able to put up 4 runs once in the first 3 games of the series.

Here is today’s lineups:

RF Chris Denorfia .261, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 SB
2B Eric Patterson .100, 2 RBI, 1 SB
3B Chase Headley .255, 1 HR , 9 RBI
1B Jorge Cantu .167, 3 RBI
Nick Hundley .341, 2 HR, 8 RBI
LF Ryan Ludwick .116, 1 HR, 6 RBI
CF Cameron Maybin .234, 2 HR, 4 RBI
SS Jason Bartlett .132, 3 SB
P Clayton Richard 1-0,  2.45 ERA
