Padres able to bring in a few runs and get the win

San Diego Padres 4 – Houston Astros 2

W: Aaron Harang (3-0)
L: J.A. Happ (1-2)
S: Heath Bell (3)

We were desperate for any offensive output after being shutout by Bud Norris last night. We shuffled the lineup again and placed our cleanup hitter (Ryan Ludwick) into to the seventh spot in the order. We would do anything for a run.

Chris Denorfia was able to end the Padres scoreless streak with one swing of the bat in the 5th inning. It was just a relief to get a run across the plate. In the 7th inning, Ryan Ludwick was FINALLY able to cash in with runners in scoring position. He brought in two runs with his single and was able to score later off of a sacrifice fly from Eric Patterson. Offense was finally able to provide the pitcher with some runs and they were not wasted.

Aaron Harang took the mound and got his third win of the season. He pitched six SOLID innings in his start and struck out 8 batters while only giving up one run. Another strong start from our starting pitching and this time he was given a little support.

Glad to see some runs come across and get the win.
