Return of the Mat (Latos)

Cincinnati Reds (6-3) vs San Diego Padres (4-4)

Edinson Volquez (0-0, 7.50 ERA) vs Mat Latos (first start of the season)

Our Ace pitcher, Mat Latos, will make his first start of the season after resting his sore arm for a couple of weeks. Mat struggled through spring training, putting up some UGLY numbers, but he will be back in San Diego and in the pitcher-friendly PETCO Park.

Hopefully the lineup can keeps those bats warm and get Latos some run support. The first 2 games in the Dodgers series, the bats were not able to make the clutch hit and both games resulted in losses. Yesterday, the bats came alive to hit 3 home runs and score 7 runs in the game. That type of run support would be welcomed for Latos’ first start of the season.
