Trying to avoid a sweep

After completing two games today, the Padres will be trying to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Padres lost both games today at the hands of the Dodgers.

In the first game, Anthony Gwynn Jr came up with the clutch hit AGAINST the Padres Pat Neshek in the 11th inning to drive in the go-ahead run. Gwynn has done this to us before when he was wearing a Milwaukee Brewers jersey and it just felt like it would happen again when he stepped up to the plate.

In the second game, Anthony Gwynn started off the game with a double and scored. That is the only run that the Dodgers would need, since the Padres were not able to do anything at the plate against pitcher Hiroki Kuroda.

The Padres lineup has not been able to put together anything at the plate. We played in 13 innings today and could not put up one run on the board. Someone in the lineup will need to come up with clutch hits and bring some people across home plate. We can’t win games when we can’t score a run!
