Padres late rally come up short against the Dodgers

facebooktwitterreddit

Los Angeles Dodgers 5 – San Diego Padres 4

W: Clayton Kershaw (2-1)
L: Dustin Moseley (0-2)
S: Ramon Troncoso (1)

Dustin Moseley gave up 5 runs in his 4 2/3 innings and the Padres could not rally back from that deficit.

Things got a little testy between the teams in the middle of the game. It started when Dodger pitcher Jonathan Broxton hit Ryan Ludwick with a pitch. The Padres pitcher Brad Brach then came back in the following inning to hit Rod Barajas to cause the benches to clear. No punches were thrown, but it sure shows that the teams have been out in spring training for too long.

The Padres tried to rally in the 8th and 9th innings, but were only able to put up 4 runs. Nick Hundley hit a solo home run in the 8th inning to try and fuel the comeback.
