Stauffer looks ready for the season in start against Indians

Tim Stauffer pitched 5 strong innings against the Cleveland Indians giving up 1 run and striking out 3. He is getting close to ready for the regular season.

The Padres bullpen finished out the game strong. Heath Bell saw an inning of action and gave up a homerun to Paul Phillips. Chad Qualls, Mike Adams and Luke Gregerson all saw an inning of action and held Cleveland scoreless.

The Padres offense put together 15 hits in the game scoring 7 runs. We were 7-for-19 with runners in scoring position.

Eric Patterson improved his chances of a roster spot with a 2-for-3 game with 2 doubles. Cameron Maybin and Aaron Cunningham both had a 2-hit game also.
