P Chris Young Signs With New York Mets

San Diego Padres free agent pitcher Chris Young has signed a 1-year contract with the New York Mets. He is awaiting a physical before the contract is announced.

Young had the potential to be dominant on the mound WHEN he was able to pitch. He struggled to stay healthy the last few seasons though and it really hurt his chances to stay with the Padres or to get a big contract that he was looking for.

He will be moving from Petco Park to New York and big Citi Field. Young is a fly ball pitcher and moving to a large ballpark must have been attractive to him. If Young is able to stay healthy during the season, he should be able to produce some good numbers.
