Padres Sign 2B Orlando Hudson
By Ernie Padaon
Jim Duquette, the Baseball Analyst for MLB Network, announced that the Padres will sign 2B Orlando Hudson. Hudson is a 2x All-Star and is a 4x gold glove winner.
The Padres are building there team by great pitching and solid defense and they just added one of the best defensive 2B in the league. Hudson will be a perfect addition to this ballpark and the makeup of the team.
The Padres are still looking to complete the trade for SS Jason Bartlett to fill out the middle of the defense.
It looks like the Padres just need to fill in the 1B position for the lineup. I am holding hope for Derrek Lee to play first. He is a gold glove defender and would fit perfectly in the middle of the order. I trust in Jed Hoyer to make the moves to keep us contending.
Here is the potential starters for 2011:
C Nick Hundley
1B ??
2B Orlando Hudson
3B Chase Headley
SS Jason Bartlett
LF Will Venable
CF Cameron Maybin
RF Ryan Ludwick
