Happy Thanksgiving Everybody!!!

Just looking back through the season and to this point, let’s look at what the San Diego Padres are thankful for:

  • Jed Hoyer
  • Jed made some great moves last offseason and we look forward to his work in this offseason. He also made some exciting moves during the trading deadline that we were not used to seeing by bringing in Miguel Tejada and Ryan Ludwick.

  • Buddy Black
  • Buddy was named NL Manager of the Year!! He has the perfect temperament for our team and puts the players in the best position possible.

  • 90 Wins and Optimism
  • We can look onto the upcoming season and know that we just finished with 90 wins. There is optimism going into spring training knowing that we can make a few upgrades and we have faith in the GM and Manager that are here.

  • Adrian Gonzales
  • Our All Star First Baseman is just a pleasure to have watched for all these seasons and even if his stint with the Padres is soon to end, we still can know that he is one of our best players.

  • Mat Latos
  • Our Ace on the staff is still young and he should be on the staff for a good amount of time. We can look forward to seeing him in the rotation in the future and pitching in our beautiful ballpark.

  • Bullpen
  • This bullpen is the best in the league and shortened the games for us. If we had the lead after 6 innings, we all felt safe that we would have secure the victory. We will still have players like Luke Gregerson, Mike Adams, and Ernesto Freiri next season. Our closer Heath Bell may bring us some players to fill in other holes on the team.
