The San Diego’s Baseball Writers’ Association of America awards for 2010 have announced that Adrian Gonzalez is the team MVP and Heath Bell is the team pitcher of the year.

Gonzo finished the season with a .298 batting average with 31 HRs and 101 RBIs. He is the leader of the team and also provided solid defense over at 1B. This is the 3rd consecutive time that Gonzalez has received the award and the 4th overall.

Heath Bell won the team award for the pitcher of the year for the second consecutive year. Bell finished with a 6-1 record and an ERA of 1.93. He finished the season with a career high 47 saves.

Both players are currently on the trading block and we may not even see them on the roster at the beginning of the 2011 season. Most likely, both players will not see the end of the season in a Padres uniform.
